Paul Adkins is a Traditional Acupuncturist and the originator of Facial Enhancement Acupuncture. Since developing the protocol in 2004, he has trained practitioners in over 40 countries – establishing FEA as one of the most widely practised cosmetic acupuncture systems in the world.

ELIGIBILITY

Who Is This Course For?

Facial Enhancement Acupuncture is a clinical protocol requiring qualified acupuncture practice. This course is open to:

Primary eligibility

  • A qualified acupuncturist holding a recognised professional diploma or degree in acupuncture (Traditional Chinese Medicine, Five Element, or equivalent) from an accredited institution.

Extended eligibiity

  • A regulated healthcare professional with formal acupuncture training (e.g. physiotherapist, osteopath, or doctor holding a recognised acupuncture qualification).

  • A final-year student on an accredited acupuncture degree programme – with the understanding that techniques may not be practised on paying clients until full qualification and appropriate insurance are in place.

All participants must hold:

  • Valid professional insurance covering acupuncture treatments.

Frequently asked questions

How many study modules are there?

There are 10 modules. For a complete list of the course contents, please visit the course overview.

How do I receive certification?

You will need to fully complete each lesson, including homework assignments (a minimum passing grade is required), and you must achieve a 100% pass rate on the lesson tests. Your certificate will be generated upon completion.

Will I have to take an exam to receive certification?

There are seven multiple-choice tests throughout the course. Each test confirms your understanding of the previous lesson(s). A 100% pass rate is required for each test. Retakes are allowed, since the main objective is to ensure you have a solid grasp of the treatment protocol.

Will I need to do assignments?

Yes, there are five assignments to complete, which are personally marked by Paul Adkins and accompanied by feedback.

How do I submit my assignments?

Submitting your assignments is easy; there is an upload facility in the study area. There is one video assignment that can be sent via a file-transfer service.

Am I abe to get help from my tutor?

Yes, this is an interactive course with direct access to Paul Adkins through the online messaging facility and community area. If you have any questions or need help with a lesson, your tutor is regularly on hand to offer guidance.

How long do I have to complete the course?

You have access to the Facial Enhancement Acupuncture online course for one year from the date you enrol. For example, if you enrol on 24 August 2026, you will be able to access the course until 23 August 2027.

What if I'm unable to complete the course within the one-year timeframe?

Your access to the course runs for one year from the date of enrolment. If you haven't completed your studies within that time, you can extend your access for one further year for a one-off fee of £99. Please note that this extension is available only once. If you have not completed the course by the end of your extension year, continued access will not be available at this price.

To request an extension, contact us at enquiries@facialenhance.co.uk before your access expires. Extensions are not applied automatically and are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Will I still have access to the course material once I've finished my studies?

You retain full access to review all lessons, grades, and community comments until your one-year access expires.

How do I access the course material?

Once you're enrolled, you can access the course on any device using your username and password, provided you have an internet connection.

Do I need any complicated software to take this course?

No, the course is delivered through online educational software that is simple to use and easy to access. Even if you have very basic computer skills, it is easy to navigate the course, and we are on hand if you experience any technical problems or need advice.

I see that tutor Paul Adkins is a Five Element Acupuncturist. I am trained in TCM. Can I still take the FEA online course?

Yes, these courses are designed for acupuncture practitioners and third-year acupuncture students from various backgrounds, whether they practice Five Element or TCM. Please contact us if you are unsure of the required qualification level before enrolment. It is important to check your eligibility before you enrol. If you enrol without the required qualifications, we can refund your course fee, but it will be reduced by £15 to cover our non-refundable payment-processing fees.

I am a beauty therapist. Can I take your online course?

No, our Facial Enhancement Acupuncture online course is only open to qualified acupuncture practitioners.

Does your course qualify for CPD points?

The Facial Enhancement Acupuncture online course is estimated at 21 hours for CPD purposes.

What does certification give me?

FEA online course certification entitles you to be called a Facial Enhancement Acupuncture practitioner and to use the letters FEA after your name. FEA course graduates will also feature on the practitioners’ page of the FACIALENHANCE® website, listed under your area. The website ranks highly in the search engines, enabling potential patients/clients to find your details more easily.
